In Memory of my late Brother Nathan, I volunteered to photograph the AIDS walk

For a number of years I wondered how to preserve the memory of my brother Nathan who died at age 36 from complications due to AIDS. Though his story is not unique, my memory of him as an incredibly intelligent, perceptive, though to his own determent, though not of himself, and often raucous sense of humor is sorely missed.  He stirred the pot and no one was left unscathed by his humor and his sensitivity.  Two years ago, ARCS asked if I might be available to photograph their AIDS walk and I accepted as a no-brainer.  Now in my second year and in cold weather, I feel as committed as ever.

Sincerely, Alex Fischer
